The synchronization is obtained without the help of optical feedback, using uniquely optical injection, i.e. a unidirectional coupling between a master laser and a slave laser. The devices are characterized using classical methods and also optical injection to obtain intrinsic physical parameters, like their geometrical dimensions, their laser gain, optical index... We also report experimental observation of multi-excitability. The role of optical coherency is emphasized in the process of optical injection.
