This thesis exemplifies the many possibilities that are to be explored, relating cosmic perturbations to theoretical models of the universe. Today we observe cosmic perturbations in several ways. The two ways that are under consideration in this thesis, are the temperature anisotropies in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) and distribution of matter in the universe, in the form of galaxies and clusters of galaxies.If the universe started out as a truly homogeneous and isotropic plasma of matter and radiation, as we know it on earth, embedded in a space time described by general relativity, then the universe would still be homogeneous and isotropic today.
