This thesis is devoted to the theoretical and experimental study of multimode optical parametric oscillators (OPO) in the transverse and longitudinal domains. We first recall the common tools used to operate non-classical states of light, with a special emphasis on the concept of mode in the quantum description of the electromagnetic field. We recall the techhniques used to describe and manipulate experimentally the transverse (images) and longitudinal (pulses) modes, and compare the two cases. A certain number of analog variables arises, which can help transpose concepts from one domain to the other.
