Surface plasmon polaritons in metallic nanostructures where light-matter interaction occurs at the sub-wavelength scale, open up new horizons in infrared optics such as new optical functions with miniaturized devices integrated in the detector vicinity. In this frame, two concepts were studied in this thesis. We first aimed at realizing an optical transmittance whose magnitude and phase vary spatially, using a mosaic of sub-wavelength gratings with different geometries (slit width, period). The optical transmitted phase and magnitude through individual gratings were calculated and measured.
