This thesis aims to study whether the executive control is effective in reading. This hypothesis was confronted to hypotheses like dysfunction of the phonological loop or lack of working memory resources. For the purpose, simple task were created in concordance with children abilities and mobilizing specific executive functions. Three studies were realized. In the first, poor and good reader's abilities to process executive control were checked with memory updating and shifting tasks. In the second study, automation effect, attentionnal load effect and control abilities development, were studied upon children of first and second grade with different reading levels.
