This HDR (Accreditation to supervise research) report synthesizes work from 1983 to 1994 on switched reluctance machines. They relate their design constraints of integrating power electronics and autocommutation sensors. This work has been associated with several achievements of prototypes from the tens of watts to several tens of kilowatts.
