We give various results on curves of genus 1,2 and 3. In particular, we give a complete answer to the question of which polynomials occur as the characteristic polynomials of Frobenius for genus-2 curves over finite fields and we show how to compute Serre's obstruction for genus 3 curves. A chapter is devoted to cryptographic applications.Nous présentons divers résultats obtenus sur les courbes de genre 1,2 et 3, notamment une caractérisation des classes d'isogénie de surfaces abéliennes qui contiennent une jacobienne sur les corps finis et le calcul de l'obstruction de Serre en genre 3.
