This thesis presents the development of a large-scale cryogenic process simulator applied to LHC (Large Hadron Collider) cryogenic facilities at CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research). This simulator is based on an oriented object approach where each equipment (heat exchanger, turbine, compressor, etc.) is represented by a set of differential and algebraic equations. The CERN control architecture is also simulated embedding the control performed by Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and the supervision system. This simulator has been designed to serve different objectives as the operator training, the PLC code checking (virtual commissioning) and the control strategies optimisation.
