This thesis proposes to identify the mechanical behaviour of trabecular bone, by taking into account the architectural heterogeneities related to the inter and intra-individual variabilities, in order to improve the injuries prediction by the virtual models of human bodies. After scanning all the samples with micro computed tomography (µCT), quasi-static compres-sion tests have been performed. The inter and intra-individual variabilities effects have been studied in order to reduce the usually dispersions, observed on the mechanical responses. Relations between the main mechanical properties have been identified at the mesoscopic scale.
