This thesis deals with the effect of the principal stress rotation on the behavior of natural soils. The importance of this parameter is based on many observations on the state of stress nearby geotechnical constructions such as foundations, tunnels, retaining walls and embankments. The purpose of this report is to investigate the phenomenon by performing sophisticated stress path using the LCPC hollow cylinder apparatus. This behavior is not taken into consideration in numerical modeling.
