The work presented in this thesis lies within the real time control of certain refining processes. We present the work completed on the monovariable control and the variable parameters management. The first part of the work was articulated around the study of an article published in 2003. We compared the monovariable control methods suggested in this article with other methods more commonly used. With an aim of improving the performances obtained with the tools tested, we developed an adaptive Smith predictor in whom the delay is updated starting from physical considerations of a hydrodesulfurization process.
