The domain of optical telecommunication is characterized by an increasing demand for better transmission capacity. One wants to transmit larger amount of information as new applications are appearing. However, some limitations are still present, like dispersive effects that degrade transmission performances. Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) is such an effect which is time broadening due to the dependence of the group velocity to the signal polarization.
