Pour une géographie nomade. Perspectives anthropogéographiques à partir de l'expérience des Touaregs Kel Ewey (Aïr – Niger).

This PhD study aims at an epistemological, empirical and theoretical approach to the issues of nomadism and sedentarisation as paradigms of how geography deals with the Elsewhere. The central focus is on a renewed understanding of nomadism, which cannot be simply reduced to a static contrary of sedentariness by consigning the former to the realm of the special and the marginal. To this end two complementary investigations were undertaken. One of the long-forgotten fundamentals of discipline imagery, the chorological doctrine, is first highlighted as an obstacle to the emergence of anthropogeography. The territorial and geohistorical experience of the Kel-Ewey Tuareg is then analysed from a micro-geographical standpoint, together with the current geopolitical context, particularly affected by issues of development and decentralisation. The final aim is to prepare the way towards a possible nomad geography.Cette recherche vise à aborder épistémologiquement, empiriquement et théoriquement la question du nomadisme et de la sédentarisation, en tant qu'elle est paradigmatique du traitement de l'ailleurs en géographie. Le questionnement central s'articule autour d'une compréhension anthropogéographique renouvelée du nomadisme, qui ne le réduit pas à une opposition figée à la sédentarité en le reléguant dans le particulier et la marginalité. Pour ce faire, deux investigations complémentaires sont mises en œuvre. Il est mis au jour un des fondements oubliés de l'imaginaire disciplinaire, la doctrine chorologique, bloquant l'émergence d'une anthropogéographie. Il est aussi analysé de façon micro-géographique l'expérience territoriale et géohistorique des Touaregs Kel Ewey, mise en perspective avec le contexte géopolitique actuel, marqué notamment par les problématiques du développement et de la décentralisation.
