Plants of the genus Ferula (Apiaceae) are perennial herbs distributed in Central Asia, the Mediterranean region and North Africa. Recent studies have shown the interest of some compounds isolated from Ferula species as chemopreventive agents and to overcome resistance to cancer. Thus, we have studied two Turkish plants of the genus Ferula: Ferula elaeochytris Korovin and Ferula lycia Boiss. Seven new sesquiterpene esters, along with thirteen known ones, two phenolic acids and a saponin were isolated. All structures were established by spectral methods, NMR, MS.
