Transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) as transparent electrodes in the form of thin film are used in a large number of applications such as solar cells, liquid crystal displays, touch screen etc. However, these technological applications of TCOs are still limited because of the availability of only n-type TCOs. For diverse technological applications synthesis of efficient p-type TCOs is of utmost importance. In p-type TCO category, copper oxides of delafossite structure (ACuO2) or SrCu202 structure show promising opto-electrical properties.
