French Railway Network and French National Railway Society want to update the technical reference library established in 1985 concerning the use of reinforced earth retaining walls. The aim of this thesis is to gain a better understanding of Reinforced Earth behaviour, especially about its vertical deformation, under railway excitation. The research program is based on an important testing program which essentially consists in constructing a full-scale experimental structure by associating a Reinforced Earth wall and a classical railway embankment, the latter serving as reference. An important number of various loadings, including important static and service loads, emphasizes the influence of the load frequency on the geotechnical structur...
