Numerical models of the human being are developed for transport users protection. To be realistic, these models require data about the geometric and mechanical properties of each component of the body, especially muscles. However, knowledge about their mechanical properties for different kind of loadings is still sparse. In order to complete these results, an in vitro quasistatic tensile test was performed to assess human muscle passive properties. A geometrically personalized finite element model was designed. Parameters of a hyperviscoelastic constitutive law were identified. The influence of strain rate on muscle passive response was also studied.
