This work reports on using plasma process that produces in situ highly oxidizing species able to degrade organic compounds to study the treatment of organic pollutants. By this way, we studied the degradation of some organic pollutant by gliding arc plasma (Glidarc) and by dielectrics barriers discharges (DBD). The first part was dedicated to the degradation of mercaptans by Glidarc with an optimization of different experimental parameters to finish with and application of this process to the decontamination of an industrial effluent rich in mercaptans.
