In a context of pollutant emission and green house gas reduction, but also economic issues related to crude oil ressources, the necessity for energy diversification has imposed the emergence and the use in growing quantities of substitute fuels. These fuels derived from numerous feedstocks, produced by several manufacturing processes, have different physico-chemical properties. The effects of each individual property on the Diesel engine behavior (emissions, efficiency, etc) are not well fully understood yet.
