The increasing use of SMA for complex applications, requires a deeper understan- ding of the phenomena governing their behavior. The strong thermomechanical coupling resulting from the martensitic phase transformation is a key point. The work presented herein is devoted to the experimental study and modeling of this coupling. Full field measurements (DIC or IRT) are key tools for studying heterogeneous thermomechanical behavior. The first part is devoted to the development of InfraRed Image Correlation, which measures in a single analysis kinematic and thermal fields discretized on the same finite element mesh, from a single IR record.
