This phD thesis is part of the COSFLOS’project. Its goal is to understand the galaxy structure evolution in the local universe. For this purpose, we make use of the Tully-Fisher relation in order to measure the distances for galaxies within 80 Mpc. My research area in the project is to collect, measure and analyze the data needed for the Luminosity LineWidth (LLW). This relation is a direct link between intrinsic luminosity of a spiral galaxy and its maximal gas rotation velocity. The best way to compute this velocity is to measure HI linewidth. Including my new observations and measurements, the current extragalactic database EDD contains 15 411 HI profiles.
