The tectonic evolution of the Atlassic foreland of the Tunisian Alpine chain omprises a paleotectonic and neotectonic study using the data inversion method of slickenside's faults system (Carey & Brunier 1974, Carey 1976) to define regional stress fields at different periods. The study of contemporary microtectonic faults sedimentation (synsedimentary faults) made it possible to highlight the succession of states of paleo-stress during the Mesozoic and Cenozoic. Thus have been recognized with good consistency: * At Permo-Carboniferous, NE-SW extension (EW and NS normal faults and grabens NW-SE) * At Triassic, NE-SW extension (Horsts, grabens and half-grabens NW-SE) * At Jurassic, a NS extension (normal rifts near EW trending) * At the Neoco...
