Etude du skarn à tungstène de Longobucco (Calabre, Italie) dans son environnement granitique. Pétrographie et géochimie

Résumé en italien ; Contrats CEE : MSM040F et MAIM004CLongobucco tungsten bearing skarns develop near the contact of the Silan batholitewith the Bocchigliero sedimentary sequence. This sequence includes sandstones and pelite and rocks of a volcanosedimentary origin. Skarns develop at the expense of three types of starting materials: pure calcitic marble, basic rocks, and weakly calcareous schists. The mineralogical zoning appears the most complex in the marble skarns. We observe successively in space : wollastonite (retromorphosed into quartz and calcite), hedenbergite and a grossular-vesuvianite zone. The two first zone have a narrow thickness. The following minerals abundantly develop during subsequent alteration stages : fluorite, apatite, quartz, chlorite, calcite and sulfide cristallize at the end without clear temporal relationships. The two other types of starting materials only contain relict minerals of the primary stage (pyroxene-garnet) and the alteration stages are present but without a great development. A pervasive sericitic alteration is superimposed. In all the cases the main deposition of scheelite is related to the crystallization of the primary silicated (Px-Gt-Vs). A geochemical study (major and trace elements) has been achieved on the three types of skarns and their starting material. It clearly demonstrated that the following elements have been added in the three cases : W, Sn, Cu, Zn, Mn, P, F. The other elements have a variable behaviour and connected to the starting material. Mineral chemistry and lithogeochemistry led us to conclude that the same fluid operated the transformation of the three starting materials. Stable isotope studies (C and O in carbonates) and REE evidenced that fluid had an important non magmatic component and a fractionation of LREE with respect to HREE. Seven types of granites have been identified, mapped and studied. Only two of them are part of a cogenetic suite. Fractional crystallization is the best model for explaining their relations. These two granites respectively contain biotite and muscovite and muscovite and Mn garnet ; they are located near the skarn. They show an enrichment in Nb, Sn, Be, Mn, Li. This is unusual and characteristic of Sn-W extremely differenciated granites. Their association together proposed as a prospection guide at the border of the Silan batholith.Les skarns à tungstène de Longobucco sont encaissés dans la série grésopélitique et volcanosédimentaire de Bocchigliero à proximite du batholite Silan hercynien. Trois types de substrats supportent la minéralisation: des marbres calcitiques, des roches basiques et des schistes faiblement calcareux. Les skarns sur marbre présentent deux zones centimétriques: Une à wollastonite (rétromorphosée en quartz et calcite), et une à hédenbergite et une zone métrique à grossulaire-idocrase; fluorine, apatite, quartz se développent successivement sur la zonation; chlorite, calcite et sulfures cristallisant à la fin du processus sans relations chronologiques précises entre eux. Les autres types de substrats ont des reliques du stade primaire à pyroxène et grenat, les phases d'altérations tardives sont peu développées, sauf, une importante séricitisation. Dans tous les cas, le dépôt majeur de la scheelite est associé au développement des minéraux silicates primaires. L'étude géochimique des trois substrats montre l'apport prédominant de W Sn Cu Zn Mn P F, le comportement des autres éléments est fonction du substrat. La composition chimique des minéraux et des roches montre l'action d'un fluide de composition chimique identique pour les trois substrats. L'étude des isotopes stables des carbonates et des terres rares (roche totale et minéraux séparés) montrent le mélange de deux fluides d'origine différente avec un contenu en REE très bas et un fractionnement des LREE par rapport aux HREE. Sept types de granites ont été reconnus, cartographiés et étudiés. Deux faciès seulement sont cogénétiques, leurs relations s'expliquent par un modèle de cristallisation fractionnée. Ces deux faciès à biotite-muscovite et à muscovite-grenat (Mn) situes à proximité des skarns ont un enrichissement inhabituel en Nb, Sn, Be, Mn, Li caractéristique des granites très évolués et porteurs de minéralisations à Sn-W.
