The delayed formation of ettringite (DEF) is a chemical reaction that can cause the deterioration of concrete. The swelling mechanism of this reaction is complex and involves many parameters (temperature, composition of concrete, humidity ...). However, despite the studies on the subject over the past decade, many questions remain unanswered. The aim of our research is to provide as much as possible new elements to a better understanding of the internal sulfate attack and thus meet three objectives are "Understanding", "Prevention" and "Healing".
