This work concerns the general framework of molecular electronics. After the presentation of the stakes and the challenges, we describe the mainachievements in this field. First, we made self-assembled monolayers on silicon by silanization. These monolayers with various thicknesses (8, 14 and 17 carbons) are functionalized in three chemical steps, with 6 different conjugated moieties at their ends. The structural characterizations (contact angle, ellipsometry, FTIR, AFM, X-ray diffraction) validate the realization of these structures. Thermal studies on these monolayers shows that they are stable to temperatures up to 300°C.
