The development of embedded Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications for Multiprocessor Systems-on-Chips (MPSoCs) is a complex task requiring the consideration of many constraints including real-time requirements, power consumption restrictions, and limited hardware resources. To satisfy these constraints, it is critical to understand the general characteristics of a given application: its behavior and its requirements in terms of MPSoC resources.
