MicroRNA are small non-coding RNA (22 nucleotides in mean) known to regulate gene expression at the post-translational level. They play a role in many cellular processes, especially in skin. However, their exact role during epidermal differenciation remains to be clarified. Moreover, their role in the response of keratinocytes to ionizing irradiation has never been studied.
