The thesis aims at modelling the behaviour of foundations in soft soils, such as those found in South-East Asia or in the deep seabed. The work is essentially numerical but includes also a significant experimental part concerning the determination of the mechanical behaviour of very soft clays. A 3D numerical modelling has been developed for pile groups, piled raft foundations and the alternative solution of soil reinforcement by stone columns. The interactions between the different piles (or columns) of groups and those between raft, soil and piles have been detailed.
