The interstellar medium (ISM) of spiral galaxies plays a key role in galaxy evolution. Throughout this thesis we characterized the link between the ISM of spiral galaxies and the star formation efficiency. In a first part, we studied the atomic gas distribution of the highly inclined spiral galaxy NGC 2683, with a deprojection model of radio data cubes. This study gives insight on the gas accretion history in this galaxy. In a second part of this work, we examined the compression effects of the ISM, which occurs in galaxies located in dense environment.
