Discipline ATIAM (Acoustique, Traitement du signal, Informatique appliqués à la Musique)The study and the simulation of percussion phenomena are approached in the context of musical creation by computer. The goal is on the one hand to bring better knowledge on the physical and perceptive mechanisms in the percussion, on the other hand to build software elements for an artistic use. The necessary method is to confront three fields of sound representation: the description by physical model, the description of the acoustic signal and the description in terms of perception.
