Among the fundamental processes involved in the development of an organism, morphogenesis is one of the most complex. During the past centuries, an amount of experimental studies have improved our actual knowledge of the mechanisms which drive many morphogenetic processes in living organisms. Only recently, experiments have been complemented with mathematical modeling as a tool for proving novel insights on morphogenesis in soft tissues. In this context, this thesis aims at developing new mathematical models for the formation of patterns and forms in soft tubular organs.
