In MRI microscopy, the sensitivity of the detection is a critical issue for acquiring images with high signal to noise ratio because the amount of NMR signal is extremely low. An alternative to the use of high field strength is to improve the performances of the radiofrequency coil that detect the NRM signal. In particular, the strategy underlying the present work aims at exploiting the high sensitivity of miniature superconducting coils based on the monolithic design of transmission line resonators, with the long term objective of implementing an array of these coils.
