This work is devoted to an experimental study of magnetic field, temperature and velocity fields in a mercury induction furnace. Despite the importance of the Joule effect, the temperature gradients are relatively low and located in the electromagnetic skin. The hot film anemometer to measure allows local average velocities and turbulence measures for various values of drive currents and frequencies. The measurements show that the turbulent boundary layer depends on the thickness of the electromagnetic skin depth. The classical theoretical analysis of the turbulent boundary layer adapted to the case of weak skin thicknesses is used to interpret the experimental results.Le présent travail consiste à étudier expérimentalement le champ magnéti...
