Insulating materials of electric cables in nuclear power plants are constituted by rubbers having good ageing resistance properties, like ethylene and propylene copolymers (EPR, EPDM …), because in service these cables are submitted to low irradiation and temperatures that could reach 50°C in the reactor building. The objective of this thesis is to contribute to improve the understanding of the ageing of cables insulating materials, by studying the evolution of the structure and the behavior of models materials. These materials are constituted an amorphous EPDM crosslinked with peroxide and including different ratio of micrometric fillers, constituted of aluminum trihydrate (ATH), used for its fire retardancy properties.
