We determine pairing gap and binding energy of symmetric nuclear matter in a combined, self-consistent treatment of BCS gap equation and Brueckner-Hartree-Fock equations. Relative to the uncoupled scheme, we find a reduction of the gap by about 10 percent. The binding energy per nucleon is lowered by up to about 1 MeV
