Building upon new web services for the cataloging community, OCLC recently launched their WorldShare Metadata API, which allows individuals to write data to WorldCat within their own applications. John Chapman (WorldShare Metadata API Product Manager) will discuss how the WorldShare Metadata API works; allowing for a user to build into their own applications the ability to add new records to WorldCat, replace and enrich records, and manage WorldCat holdings. Chapman will also discuss where he sees the use of bibliographic web services evolving in the near future.
