Using CollectionHQ and Supplemental Tools to Rethink Collection Management

Although several libraries are using it, there has been little formal discussion of CollectionHQ and its impact on collection maintenance, budgets, and workflow. In 2011 Great River Regional Library (GRRL) began using CollectionHQ in addition to Horizon’s stock rotation module to direct the flow of materials system-wide. GRRL’s IT staff also created a web-based collection tool that functions as a title dashboard.
