Maag Library at Youngstown State University has implemented Wordpress open-source weblog software as a means to undertake a number of Web 2.0 services. Most frequently, Wordpress is utilized to create pages and posts representing web pages that must be updated or revised frequently. This presentation will discuss the project with particular attention paid to the decision to use Weblog software rather than other web development tools and the advantages of using a locally loaded and administered weblog server rather than utilizing a commercial weblog site. The audience will also understand the benefits and challenges to the utilization of open-source software (Wordpress)
