In 2013, Texas\u27s single largest reproductive healthcare provider was barred from a state-funded family planning program. We performed a telephone questionnaire from July through October 2014 of 224 program clients who previously received injectable contraception at the large healthcare provider in fall 2012. Clients were selected from two sites: a major metropolis and a remote, smaller city. In spring 2013, 295 of 2,045 major metropolitan clients (14.4%) and 35 of 54 other clients (64.8%) returned to the healthcare provider for injectable contraception, a significant difference (p = .000) that likely reflects lack of alternative providers in the remote area at that time.
