Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a major T cell growth factor and plays an essential role in the development of normal immune responses. The Janus kinases (Jaks) and Signal transducers and activators of transcription (Stats) are critical for transducing signals from the IL-2 receptors (IL2Rs) to the nucleus to control cell growth and differentiation.
