Cholesterol is an important amphipathic molecule and essential structural constituent of all animal cells. It is made up of a hydrocarbon chain, four hydrocarbon ring structure and a hydroxyl group. It is also used in Vitamin D biosynthesis. Cholesterol is of two types: LDL (low-density lipoproteins, bad cholesterol) and HDL (high-density lipoproteins, good cholesterol. High cholesterol increase risk of coronary heart disease. Proposed work describes a unique approach of immobilizing cholesterol oxidase onto TiO2NPs, modified Pencil Graphite electrode and its application in construction of an amperometric biosensor for determination of serum cholesterol
