In line with today’s big focus on environmental and climate issues, energy efficiency has gained great traction in society. To survive this change and send correct signals to customers regarding what energy efficiency measures are preferred from a holistic view, a widespread trend among district heating companies to change their pricing models has started. The change is towards seasonal differentiation of energy prices and a higher portion of fixed fees. This report is, on behalf of Capital Cooling Energy Service AB (Capital Cooling), studying if that change is enough, or if temperature-based dynamic prices would be a safer and more correct way to price district heating.
