The Continuing Medical Education Committee, under the aegis of the University of Malta Medical School, assigned its 1998 Spring Symposium to Back Pain. During this Conference the speakers presented several topics on back pain, going into the art and science of the problem, the lumbar radiculopathies and the retro-peritoneal pain in patients. Other topics discussed were the rheumatological conditions and the psycho-social aspect of back pain.peer-reviewe
