Valorization of agro-industrial byproducts and wastes holds significant potential to increase sustainability of food systems. Utilization of complete material streams for production of animal feed, energy, compost and/or specific consumer applications is already widely implemented and experiences further dissemination. Fractionized valorization in biorefinery approaches is an emerging field aiming at significantly increased overall efficiency of resources utilization.
