Complejos metal-carbeno de Fischer nitrogenados: Mecanismos fotoquímicos y propiedades fotofísicas

This work is centered on the behavior of Fischer imine carbene complexes towards light. The following objectives of study were planned: the stereoselectivity in reactions with alkenes to form 1-pyrrolines, the influence of substituents in the photoreactivity and the phophysical properties of imine carbene complexes. Chromium complexes are employed in the study of reactivity and chromium and tungsten complexes in the analysis of photophysical properties. In Chapter 3, the synthesis, X-Ray structures and irradiations of alkoxy- and imine carbene complexes are described. The stereoselectivity of the formation of 1-pyrrolines from the irradiation of Fischer imine carbene complexes and alkenes is studied through the introduction of chiral auxiliars. The reaction proceeds through intermediate N-cyclopropylimines that suffer photochemical rearrangement. Moreover, they can racemize and isomerize photochemically limiting the stereoselectivity of the global process. Certain grade of diastereoselectivity can be achieved when the chiral auxiliar is conserved along the process. Next, modifications of substituents in the irradiations of imine carbenes with alkenes and alkynes are carried out. On the one hand, the photolysis of the ethoxy imine carbene 10, which leads to five member heterocycles without CO insertion, indicates that the imine group determines the reactivity and inhibits the insertion. On the other hand, several irradiations in the presence of alkynes support the mechanistic proposal for the three types of products formed in the reactions: 2H-pyrroles, indenes and azadendralenes. Furthermore, irradiations of imine carbene complexes with other unsaturated compounds are carried out. In addition, the synthesis of a new carbene complex by nitrogen radical addition to an alkynyl methoxycarbene is reported. The radical is generated by photolysis of the O-acyloxime benzophenone. Chapter 4 deals with the photophysics of the complexes. The shapes of the theoretical absorption spectra (TD-DFT) of alkoxycarbene 4 and iminecarbene 11 are compared with the UV-vis spectra bands. The luminescence of several Cr and W alkoxy and imine carbene complexes is measured. Finally, triplet excited specie generated from the imine carbene 11 is detected, both by direct detection and by quenching of the xanthone triplet.Esta memoria se centra en el comportamiento de complejos iminocarbeno de Fischer frente a la luz. Se plantearon como objetivos los estudios de: la estereoselectividad en reacciones con alquenos para formar 1-pirrolinas, la influencia de los sustituyentes en la fotorreactividad y las propiedades fotofísicas de los complejos iminocarbeno. Se emplean complejos de cromo en el estudio de reactividad y complejos de cromo y wolframio en el análisis de propiedades fotofísicas. En el Capítulo 3 se describen la síntesis y las estructuras de rayos X de complejos alcoxicarbeno e iminocarbeno empleados, así como las irradiaciones llevadas a cabo. Se estudia la estereoselectividad de la formación de 1-pirrolinas a partir de la irradiación de iminocarbenos de Fischer y alquenos introduciendo auxiliares quirales. La reacción transcurre a través de N-ciclopropiliminas intermedias que sufren una transposición fotoquímica. Además, pueden racemizar e isomerizar fotoquímicamente limitando la estereoselectividad del proceso global. Se consigue cierta diastereoselectividad cuando el auxiliar quiral se conserva en todo el proceso. A continuación se realizan modificaciones de sustituyentes en las irradiaciones de iminocarbenos con alquenos y alquinos. Por un lado, la fotólisis del etoxi iminocarbeno 10, que conduce a heterociclos de cinco eslabones sin incorporación de CO, sugiere que el grupo imino dirige la reactividad inhibiendo la inserción de CO. Por otro lado, varias irradiaciones en presencia de alquinos apoyan la propuesta mecanística de los tres caminos de reacción encontrados que conducen a 2H-pirroles, indenos y azadendralenos. También se realizan irradiaciones de iminocarbenos con otro tipo de sustancias insaturadas. Además, se presenta la síntesis de un nuevo carbeno por adición de un radical nitrogenado, generado a partir de O-aciloxima de la benzofenona vía fotoquímica, a un alquinil metoxicarbeno. El Capítulo 4 está dedicado a la fotofísica de los complejos. Se compara la forma de los espectros de absorción teóricos (TD-DFT) del alcoxicarbeno 4 y del iminocarbeno 11 con los espectros UV-visible. Se mide la luminiscencia de varios complejos alcoxi e iminocarbeno de Cr y W. Por último, se detecta por LFP una especie excitada triplete procedente del iminocarbeno 11, tanto por medida directa como por desactivación del triplete de la xantona
