The Constant Rate of Strain (CRS) test is currently the most widely used method for determination of consolidation parameters in Sweden. These parameters are used to calculate the probable settlements and behavior of soils. With the Swedish standard strain rate, the duration of a single the test is about 24h, but a higher strain rate would allow for more tests to be performed in the same amount of time.
