Most of the concrete structures that exist today have been built more than 50 years ago. These structures, especially bridges are subjected to different deterioration processes. In Montreal bridges are mainly exposed to deicing salts during the winter. Deicing salts are one of the main sources of corrosion in steel reinforcements that are embedded in concrete. The corrosion causes severe damage to bridges and these damages need an increasing amount of resources to be repaired. In this thesis the main objective is to calibrate a model for the time history of chloride penetration in concrete as a function of data obtained from core samples data.
