The annual Security Congress, run by the Security Research Institute at Edith Cowan University, included the 16th Australian Information Warfare Conference. The development of information warfare over the past decade – the tactics used by belligerents has made the Internet of Threats more relevant. Both states and non-state actors have embraced the ‘new’ technologies so the psychological as well as the physical dimensions of conflict are exploited. This has made asymmetric features of conflict be integrated into strategies rather than just be an ‘add-ons’.
