Polarimetrie von Parametrischer Röntgenstrahlung sowie Entwicklung eines Compton-Polarimeters für niederenergetische Röntgenstrahlung

In order to measure the linear polarization of Parametric X-radiation (PXR) a Compton polarimeter with high analyzing power at photon energies < 5 keV was developed, built and tested. The characteristics were tested with different numerical and analytical methods. They were optimized so that the statistical error in given photon figures will be as small as possible. A PXR polarization measurement was taken and analysed in possible background contributions. It was shown that the observed differences between the measured and for the PXR predicted polarization can be explained through background contributions. In this way, it was proved that PXR shows the expected polarization behaviour even in the low intensity field
