Euro-Mediterranean Consortium for Applied Research on International Migration (CARIM)This paper examines the various legal aspects of migration in Sudan and focuses on the regulatory framework in the last decade. It looks at legislations and regulations, which are organized around key elements of the migratory process, analyzing the national laws in several legal documents including the 2005 Interim National Constitution of the Republic of the Sudan (INC 2005), national laws, regulations and decrees. The paper falls into three main parts while focusing on three categories: refugees and asylum seekers; the legal framework governing foreign nationals or aliens; and, finally, legal issues governing nationality and citizenship.
